Nayland Playgroup
This new facility, built in the grounds of the existing primary school, prioritises its southern aspect and the views from the indoor spaces across the surrounding woodscape and towards the further school community.
Externally, the interlocking forms of the building are primary and playful. A generous covered external play area maximises year-round outdoor play opportunity whilst protecting south-facing glazing from overheating. The open plan interior is welcoming, allows flexibility and enables easy oversight.
Durable zinc and timber external finishes compliment the school’s rhythmic geometry and root the children in an inviting, contemporary environment.
